Convicted felon Michael McEnry was arrested on July 26 and booked for HS 11358(c) illegal cultivation of marijuana, HS 11359 (b) possession of marijuana for sale, PC29800(a) (1) felon in possession of a firearm and PC30305(a) felon in possession of ammunition.
McEnry is property owner of the land which is mentioned in a civil lawsuit filed by local businessman Paul Leslie against Humboldt County Board of Supervisors and former County Health Director Ian Hoffman.
An illegal septic tank on McEnry's property is one of the issues in the civil lawsuit. Leslie told me the litigation filed was not against McEnry but the BOS and Hoffman. Court records list McEnry as a real party in interest.
Mr. Nick Kloeppel represented the County defendants. Mr. Dustin Owens is McEnry's attorney.
At the last hearing, Judge Timothy Canning sustained demurrers from Kloeppel and Owens without leave to amend.
There are five cases in the Humboldt Superior Court system with this exact name.
