Demetrius Coleman and Alma Ahumadamendoza resolved their fraud, consiracy and grand theft case last month. Both were sentenced today.
Ahumadamendoza pleaded guilty to PC 487 (a) grand theft. Rest of charges were dismissed. A resitution hearing is scheduled on 8/30 just in Ahumadamendoza's case. Ahumadamendoza was booked and released.
Coleman pleaded guilty to UI 2101(a) unemployment insurance fraud. Rest of charges were dismissed. Coleman has already been convicted of murder and time on this second case will be served concurrently.
Coleman's sentence today will make no difference because he is serving this time concurrently. Ahumadamendoza got probation; once again a lighter sentence than Coleman.
8/30: Ahumadamendoza's restitution hearing was continued to 10/12 by defense. There was no objection by people. Stipulation that witnesses may appear via Zoom.
10/12: Restitution hearing off calendar. Another continuance by defense. Next date 12/1.
12/1: Restitution hearing continued because Mr. Judge ill and unavailable. No motion by the DA.
