Was there a typo in the last name for this DUI arrest?

Travis Landon Rennselaer-Bater was arrested by Arcata Police Department today for VC 23152 (a) DUI  and VC 23152(b) driving with blood alcohol level of 0.08 percent or more.

A reader just sent me the following article. I told the reader the last name did not match.

The reader said it was a typo and insisted it is the same person. I asked for evidence. The reader then sent me this driver's license.

The reader contacted me after hours yesterday. I had to wait for the released jail log today because it is 24 hours behind listing most arrests and releases. The dob on the jail log matches the DL. Everything matches except the last name which does seem to be a typo.

I have contacted the Arcata Police Department about why there was an error in the last name
but this is the weekend and so it will probably be Monday or whenever they can look into it and get back to me. I will update the post. I have cced HCSO so they can look into it as well and see if the error happened at booking and correct the mistake in the system, if necessary. APD Chief Ahearn did get back to me and he is going to inquire and follow up with the arresting officer.

When you arrest someone and if a complaint is filed, a typo can cause many problems. I received no follow up response from APD or HCSO about the error.
