Will Citizens of Eureka for Responsible Government be using some of the $19, 950 to support fellow realtor Anil Dwivedi

This group did not respond to me the last time. I am the only one who has reported on this group. I am not contacting them again. I am over the unprofessional local yahoos, good ole boys and gals; most of these people no one knows outside Humboldt and they have zero influence or power in regional, state or national politics. They get away with their unprofessionalism and nonsense because podunk Humboldt isn't a blip in the radar.

Today this group filed a 460. Besides the unoriginal, predictable name 💤, The savvy readers of Humboldt who have made very informed, spot on observations on Eureka City Council candidates include those who live in Eureka.

Comments are nice. Voting is better. Educating your co-workers and friends important if you want the right people in office.

Will they be donating or endorsing fellow realtor Anil Dwivedi or Mayor?

County of Humboldt loses again, this time told off by CA Supreme Court; win for former court reporter thanks to local attorney Patrik Griego

I confirmed with Janssen Malloy senior partner Mr. Patrik Griego that the "California Supreme Court denied the County's Petition for Review and denied their request to depublish the Court of Appeal's Decision."

I have been the only one to cover this lawsuit for years. I have only included screenshots of two recent posts.

Once again, here is the summary from previous coverage.

If you have not been following my coverage on the lawsuit filed by former Humboldt Superior Court reporter Kay Gibbs, here is a summary and I wrote this in my May 13, 2026 post.

In April 2024, I was the first one to report on a lawsuit filed by former court reporter. No one has covered that lawsuit. I did several posts on that case and my last post was on March 2025.

Kay Gibbs sued the County of Humboldt. I recognized the name because Kay was one of the best Humboldt Superior Court reporters. She worked for the local courts for almost 40 years.

Del Norte Superior Judge Darren McElfresh was assigned to the case. Mr. Patrik Griego represented Gibbs pro bono. Mr. Griego is senior partner at local law firm Janssen Malloy.

The County of Humboldt was represented by Liebert Cassidy Whitmore, a Fresno law firm.

Judge McElfresh consistently ruled against Gibbs and Mr. Griego. I like Kay, I knew her and was very disappointed by the ruling.

In May,, Mr. Griego told me, "The court of Appeal just reversed the trial court and held that the trial court should not have granted the County’s demurrer to our complaint. The Court of Appeal remanded the case back to the trial court and awarded us and awarded us our costs on appeal."

The County asked the California Supreme Court to review the Court of Appeals decision in Gibbs.

Arrogant Humboldt County who cannot admit a mistake and if they lose; they double down.

And the County of Humboldt lost; again. Wasted taxpayer money to be told off by the California Supreme Court.

All coverage on this case or any previous post can be accessed for free via the search feature on the blog.

Mr. Griego represented Kay pro bono.

The victory of good over evil is what happens when a lawyer stands up for a hardworking decent employee who gave 40 years of her life  only to be treated badly by an ungrateful, malignant evil County whose economy is drugs, booze, welfare and screwing over people.

Senior Deputy District Attorney Whitney Timm with another win for victims, took jurors only a few hours to find convicted molestor Christopher Griffin guilty

Senior Deputy District Attorney Whitney Timm with another win for victims. It only took a couple of hours for the jury to find convicted molestor Christopher Griffin guilty of all charges. The juors went into deliberation at 3:57 yesterday, left at 4:27 p.m. Started deliberations today at 9:32 and had a verdict by 11:24.

Mr. Paul Gallegos is Griffin's attorney. Retired Humboldt Superior Court Judge Christopher Wilson presided over the trial.

Sentencing is on 9/29.

I have included court minutes with details on the verdict.

I just did a post yesterday. That post and all other posts can be accessed for free via the search feature on the blog.

Exclusive: "Media coverage, social media posts, and law enforcement have continued to distort the truth about Miranda’s Rescue and me."

Exclusive statement from Shannon Miranda.

Text:

Statement from Shannon Miranda

July 31, 2026

Media coverage, social media posts, and law enforcement have continued to distort the truth about Miranda’s Rescue and me. I have fully cooperated with the investigation and provided everything requested, including my records, computers, and phones. I have been forthright and honest. The same cannot be said of the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office or my neighbors, Jenna Moore (aka Chris Jenna) and Jennifer Raymond.

Because of the investigation, I have not spoken publicly in my defense. However, the inaccurate information and lies circulating about this case have fueled rumors, threats, and hostility toward my family and me.

Law enforcement, particularly Sheriff Honsal, has become part of the rumor mill, so I will no longer stay silent. Many facts have not been released, and what has been released has been distorted. They are using Gestapo tactics in this investigation, including ransacking my house at 10 p.m. and frightening my family. Despite numerous requests, the Sheriff still has not provided me with the list of items taken from my home and the Rescue property during their searches, as promised. They continue to stonewall me while bending over backward to appease Jenna Moore.

These women claim to have insider information and present it as fact. Sheriff Honsal, his officers, and investigators seem willing to speak with my accusers but not with me. In addition, Sheriff Honsal’s wife, Jodi Honsal, is actively involved in Moore’s and Raymond’s elaborate scheme to discredit me.

The authorities are selectively releasing information for publicity rather than to reflect the truth, and they are using inflammatory language in doing so. It appears the Sheriff is using me to help his re-election campaign rather than conducting this investigation with integrity.

Several social media pages by Moore, Raymond, and others claim to be sources of truth, but they are not. The two main perpetrators of total lies are Moore and Raymond. They are clearly making things up for clicks, reactions, and to position themselves as avengers, when they are merely bullies and stalkers. In addition, numerous of their vigilante friends and followers are posting death threats and lies.

Moore and Raymond are profiting from this scheme by selling merchandise branded with their lies to raise funds for themselves, including T-shirts and scented candles. If they are truly honest and honorable, why are they doing this?

This began as a personal vendetta by Jenna Moore, who, for reasons I do not understand, began blatantly harassing me. She and her family trespassed on my property multiple times, dug up buried dogs, illegally videotaped and photographed them, and posted these images on multiple social media sites without any factual information or even the slightest context. She continues to act aggressively, spreading lies and claiming ongoing abuse.

Let me lay out some of the facts:

• Not releasing the whole truth: One example of Sheriff Honsal not providing all the information is the bin of used dog collars found in the barn. Honsal failed to mention that the collars were donated to the Rescue, many still tagged, for use with incoming dogs.

These were NOT collars and tags from dogs that came to the Rescue.

• The mission of my rescue organization is to provide a final opportunity for dogs that had been slated for euthanasia in municipal shelters. These animals were transferred into my care as a last resort, with the understanding that I had full legal authority and responsibility for all medical and adoption decisions in their best interests and in compliance with applicable laws.

Every decision was made after careful evaluation of each dog's medical condition, behavioral history, and public safety considerations. While many dogs could be rehabilitated and successfully placed in loving homes, not every dog could be safely or legally adopted. Some adopted dogs were returned because of aggression.

Under county ordinance, a dog that has bitten a person or attacked, seriously injured, or killed another animal may be classified as “potentially dangerous” or “dangerous”. In such cases, the law imposes restrictions that can make adoption unlawful or impossible. As the responsible party, I was legally and ethically obligated to comply with those requirements.

• Personal opinions, emotions, or public pressure cannot override established laws or my legal obligations. Placing a dog that could not legally be adopted would have violated the law and jeopardized the safety of people, other animals, and the rescue. My responsibility was to act within the law while making difficult decisions in the best interests of the animals in my care and the community.

No matter how badly someone wants to keep dogs from being euthanized, they can’t do so if the law stands as it is. If I place an aggressive dog for adoption, I am breaking the law.

• Shelters sent dogs to Miranda’s Rescue drugged and sedated. Many dogs sent to my rescue by metropolitan shelters arrive heavily drugged and sedated. Once they arrive, the dogs are kept safe until the drugs wear off so we can properly evaluate them. Often, the paperwork accompanying the dogs does not reflect the animal's aggressive behavior. In such cases, we are working blind with these dogs and must take precautions to prevent them from biting someone or maiming or killing another animal. By law, these dogs cannot be put up for adoption if they demonstrate these behaviors.

• Shelters refused to take their dogs back when notified. When we notified the city shelters that their aggressive dogs were not adoptable and offered to have them pick them up, very few did.

The rescue business is about saving dogs that were slated for euthanasia at the shelters. My rescue was the last resort for these dogs. I was given these animals with full control over their medical and adoption decisions. We worked diligently to retrain them, but some couldn't change, no matter how hard we tried.
Money received from shelters was used to care for the animals. I have never taken money from shelters for dogs only to put them down to make room for more dogs. I have always taken dogs when asked, trained them, and given them another chance with a loving family If a dog was untrainable due to aggression, after giving them plenty of time to adjust, they would then be euthanized. If dogs from the shelters were adopted, I often notified the shelter. A number of those dogs were returned by the adoptive family and could not be readopted due to their aggression. I was under no legal or contractual obligation to notify the shelters of their return. • The authorities were notified when dogs were euthanized. Whenever I have had to euthanize an animal, I have contacted Rob Patton, the manager of the local animal control office (part of the Sheriff's Office), beforehand to advise them of the situation. Even when 1 was told that such notification wasn't required, I continued to do so because I believe it's important to maintain a record of these actions. Rob Patton has also inspected Miranda's Rescue numerous times over the years. We have never received a negative review. All animals have been buried legally. I have followed the law when an animal has been euthanized and buried. Miranda's Rescue has operated for more than 20 years. During this time, by far the majority of the dogs I have received from shelters have been retrained and placed in loving homes. Of the thousands of dogs that have come through the Rescue, fewer than 5% were not adoptable and were euthanized.

This is not the community I have called home and loved. People who have known me my whole life are vilifying me based on what they have read in the media and on social media. I have been an upstanding citizen in this community, and now that is being erased by lies, rumors, and false accusations.
I have spent my entire career caring for animals, and 1 remain committed to placing them in safe, loving homes, even as 1 fear for my life and my family's safety.

I ask that you consider the source of what you see and read, avoid jumping to conclusions, and let this play out. I remain committed to cooperating fully and to setting the record straight

My thoughts on Shannon's statement:

Shannon has told me personally and acknowledged by speaking with me exclusively  more than once that he appreciates my fair and balanced coverage and allowing due process to work. Again today, I spoke with him briefly and he had nothing additional to add to his statement.

I earned that trust and deserve that exclusive. The social media mob and gossip mongers of Humboldt are a plague and an embarassment to the decent residents of Humboldt who are too busy working, surviving and get silenced by the Temu version of the Bored and Clueless of Humboldt. Even the dollar store toilet brush is cleaner and of more value than the Humboldt online trolls.

Releasing this statement is going to unleash the hate and worsen the very issues Shannon addresses in his statement  Ms. Allison Jackson and I will bear the brunt simply for doing our jobs.

I don't allow close minded, rabid, biased bullies to dictate journalism, the law or intimidate me. This hateful mob couldn't even leave me alone after I was the first one to report on the Rocket Dog Rescue lawsuit against Shannon. When I reported on that civil lawsuit, unlike these clueless haters; Shannon understood that is part of fair and balanced coverage.

The hateful mob's idea of free speech is silencing dissent, doxxing, harassing, threatening and endangering others. They have done that to Shannon and me. They think they know the law. They have been allowed to intimidate, lie, bully, harass Shannon, me and others by those supposed to protect the public. Those who cannot stand independent reporting and have been exposed have used the excuse of caring for animals to pursue a hateful personal vendetta.

After what they have put me through and abused free speech and impacted my livelihood while I am trying to survive daily; these selfish tyrants do not get to demand anything from me. They have several unregulated platforms acting like their personal PR agents. They want to be heard, then they can follow rules and several need use their real names. I will not allow toxic, negative energy to drain my regular readers or anyone to take my page hostage with personal attacks, unvetted claims and potential libel.

As usual, the cowards and weak of Humboldt stay silent. Shannon is finding out how fickle and two faced this community is and how people miserable and powerless in their own lives and selfish will turn on you in an instant.

Reporting on the Miranda's Rescue investigation will be done just like any other news. For years, the other local media and regional media has done one sided coverage and allowed biased groups with agendas to dictate coverage. For 12 years, I have called out the local powers, the entrenched systems and the good ole boys and gals. One random article here and there by local media when I have called them out repeatedly is not enough.

Shannon Miranda has not been charged with a crime. One civil lawsuit has been filed. More may follow because the cold hard facts are that there are opportunists out there mixed in with people who genuinely care about animals. Shannon has had to defend himself prematurely. Defendants charged with homicide and molestation have received less outrage and hate from Humboldt.

Unlike Jenna Moore and Jennifer Raymond and their clown minions; those who know the law have the brains not to spew anything and everything out in public and that includes any potential litigation. Shannon, I or anyone do not owe every Tom, Dick, Harry, Jane, Joan with an online account any responses or answers. These people seem to have all day to sit online obsessing about others including strangers,  posting and cackling their gossip to fill their empty existence while the rest of us are out trying to live our lives and contribute to the community.

This very community demonized Ray Christie and still does. Spread whatever they want without consequences.

The rest of the local media did not cover Ray Christie's plea or that his criminal conviction was expunged. No one dared cover his case completely or with information and facts I  informed the public and as usual faced retaliation. Now they expect Ray and Shannon to drop everything and respond to them. If they wanted to tell both sides, they should have done that consistently and taken on the Humboldt DA, the County of Humboldt and HCSO when there was risk. They did not.

An aspect not mentioned so far in this Miranda's Rescue investigation is that Humboldt is full of jealous, petty people. Until Sheriff Billybob, his arrogant wife and her bff Jenna are willing to provide answers to conflicts of interest and Jenna is going to speak about why CHP let her go when she mentioned Sheriff Honsal, I don't want to hear anything Sheriff Billybob has to say.

Sheriff Billybob needs to recuse himself from this investigation. At this point, I don't know if I trust HCSO at all. The DOJ, the FBI, HCSO need to tell the Jenna Moore mob to stop threatening people and file reports against them or they need to be investigated themselves. Selective enforcement of the law does occur and injustice exists when people stay silent.

The County of Humboldt is already facing a federal lawsuit from Ray Christie. Jenna Moore speaks with a forked tongue. On one hand, she is quoted asking people to be patient with the HCSO investigation and yet regularly incites hate and anger on social media about Shannon. Why is she so obssessed with him? I won't even mention the harm she has cost me. All because I am not her puppet feeding her narcissistic need for constant attention and doing my job as a journalist.

Have any of these keyboard warriors expressed 1/100 th of the outrage against the repeat offenders and criminals that plague Humboldt, taken a stand against pedophiles and men who victimize women or stopped allowing the good ole boys and gals of Humboldt who bully, retaliate, make it hard for any new leadership or anyone trying to change the status quo?

I don't give a cent about what Humboldt Redditors or anyone online thinks. Most are anonymous and won't use their names so there is no way to tell how many are court, law enforcement, government and political insiders or disgruntled people exposed by my reporting or just miserable, godless and primarily women from the left or emasculated, liberal men who cannot think for themselves are angry at Shannon, me and the world instead of dealing with their inadequacies and issues.

Since the haters hang on every word I write and then cowardly gossip and diss me; let me spell it out for their pea sized brain assuming they listen for once.

This is not about defending Ray or Shannon; it is about the law, the truth and equal treatment. Concepts none of you grasp or give a damn about because you are privileged to live in a country that allows freedoms you take for granted and have abused and misused because you are selfish, self centered, myopic, out of control haters.

To paraphrase Sheriff Billybob, he free to selectively respond to his "media" tools  and "media" he controls who do not question or do follow ups and give his ego the photo ops he wants. Billy Honsal cannot handle tough questions and cannot admit mistakes.

Yes Billy, ultimately facts vetted in a court of a law and where the other side gets to present evidence and a defense.

Ray Christie and Georgi Tonev are only two examples of Sheriff Billybob's "leadership" and botched investigations. The ultimate result and where the evidence led and facts speaking for themselves was a plea in both cases. Ray's conviction was expunged. In Tonev's case, the facts that came out were very different than the HCSO investigation, arrest, charges filed and the final result. Sheriff Billybob's first search warrant for Miranda's Rescue was rejected by Humboldt Superior Presiding Judge Kelly Neel.

So Billy, was this East Coast jaunt of yours for a speaking engagement to build connections, maybe look for another job? You know the way you ran from Sunnyvale to Humboldt? If you leave, while it will be a positive development to have someone competent and qualified lead HCSO, it will be meaningless as long as the stench of nepotism, incompetence and good ole boys and gals who hired you and constantly defend you like Bubba, git er done Rex are in charge.

Now you are out of the office again, just like Gavin Newsom, traveling away instead of doing your job and staying where the taxpayers pay your salary.

Had APD included the middle name, I could have posted about this repeat offender earlier

I have reported on two arrests, both for a Carl Keeler in the past but they have different middle names. Since the Arcata Police Department press release did not list the middle name, I checked the jail log. Had a booking photo for the other one but not Carl Steven Keeler. With the amount of crime and arrests in Humboldt and more serious crimes such as homicide and molestation , I almost did not post this press release and the decision to do so is on a daily basis.

I knew Daryl Jones hearing would be continued and I was correct

**Photo I took at Jones preliminary hearing with Conflict Counsel Supervising Attorney  Meagan O'Connell**

On a hunch I did not rush this morning to go to the Daryl Jones hearing on defense request for mental health diversion. I was correct. It was continued to 8/10 for a contested hearing.

That comes from 12 plus years of covering local courts and decades of court coverage in other jurisdictions. After arguments this morning, Senior Deputy District Attorney Roger Rees noted that defense has an established mental health condition. That is in the court minutes.

I got further clarification from Mr. Rees that this is not the DA submitting or agreeing to anything.

The facts are known to the public. I have covered every hearing until now in detail. On 8/10, the only new information is Humboldt Superior Court Presiding Judge Kelly Neel's ruling. Those still interested are present via Zoom or informed by the People or defense. After 12 plus years of dedicated coverage, I will do in person local court coverage according to priority, interest and necessity.

Former CalTrans employee David Orluck arrested again by HCSO for criminal threats, stalking and intimidating a witness

Former Caltrans employee was arrested in May. I have been reporting on that 2026 case.  He was arrested again yesterday by HCSO on a Ramey warrant for PC 422 (a) criminal threats; PC 646.9(a) stalking and PC 136.1(a)(1) dissuading, intimidating a witness from reporting a crime or from testifying about a crime.

He was arraigned in his previous 2026 case on 7/28 by Retired Visiting Judge Ksenia Tsenin. Orluck hired Gregory Kreis as his attorney. Preliminary hearing is on 8/6.

First, Paul Gallegos screws up a motion, yesterday he almost causes a mistrial and alleged molestor Christopher Griffin's parents are going bankrupt paying for his defense

Two days ago, in my ongoing coverage of this trial, I posted that former DA now defense attorney Paul Gallegos who is representing alleged molestor Christopher Griffin filed the wrong motion last minute. Senior Deputy District Attorney Whitney Timm argued on the fly; won.

Yesterday, Retired Humboldt Superior Court Judge Christopher Wilson said he was not at the point to declare a mistrial due to sanctions for late discovery by Mr. Gallegos.

Defense investigators Wayne Cox who formerly worked for the Humboldt County DA and defense investigator Adam Jager who formerly worked for CHP as well as Humboldt District Attorney Chief Investigator Kyla Baxley testified yesterday.

Today, closing arguments took place. Jury went into deliberations at 3:57 p.m. Jurors left at 4:29 p.m.

7/31/26: Deliberations supposed to resume at 9:30. Jurors just went in at 9:32 p.m.

Once again, Judge Wilson refused to sanction defense for untimely disclosure of evidence and jury instruction 306.

In a previous post on this trial, I mentioned Griffin's parents do not believe the allegations. What defendant's family does?

What I did not write is that a source told me they are going bankrupt paying for a private lawyer and Griffin's defense.

Yvonne Griffin and Christopher Griffin have a family law case. I wrote about it in previous coverage. She testified for the defense. In some of the molestation cases I have covered, the mother had culpability but was never prosecuted. Yet, none of those women testified at trial for the molestors who were convicted by a jury.  I do not excuse Yvonne Griffin's behavior or decision but it did not surprise me given this case involves Catholics and the Catholic Church.

From Colorado to Humboldt County, Deputy DA Brenton Schick prosecuting his first Humboldt trial

Latest hire at Humboldt County DA's office is Deputy District Attorney Brenton Schick. He is currently prosecuting his first DUI misdemeanor trial in Humboldt before Humboldt Superior Court Judge Steven Steward. Deputy DA Rebecca Buckley-Stein is second chair.

Defendant Rosenea Bennett's attorney is Deputy Public Defender Ehvan Schectman.

As I suspected, many of the signatures on Anil Dwivedi's nomination form are from tenants of two affordable housing properties

Anil Dwivedi, one of the candidates running against Eureka Mayor Kim Bergel has qualified.

I went to see who signed his nomination paperwork. My hunch proved correct.

Media cannot request a copy of this form or take a picture but can view the form and take notes.

15 signatures are from 333 E Street, Eureka Central Residence tenants. This is the property Dwivedi owns with the recent incident in Old Town which resulted in Eureka Police Department and the Humboldt Crisis Negotiating Team responding to a woman on the roof of the building.

5  signatures from 1140 E street, Hillsdale Apartments, the property with 4 pending lawsuits against Dwivedi.

Other signatures are from 309 E street, Harris Street and a couple other Eureka addresses.

Three signatures from 933 4th street; one from Townhouse Motel owner Magan Natha & two others at that address.

Anil, there is information shared with me from tenants when I lived at 1140 E street that I have not posted or published unless someone is willing to go on record or include it in court documents. Information relevant to your pending lawsuits and possibly this post. You are making claims on your Facebook in response to the criticism of your candidacy. Arrogance or stupidity on your part or both?

Anil, whether people go on record or not, the same people know other people in Eureka and you can't talk your way out of private conversations you don't even know are happening. If they spoke to me, do you think they are not talking to their friends and people they know?

You have not been transparent about about any past or current Redway and LA background and connections. Why the investment in Eureka? Eureka voters deserve the complete information.

People listen to others they trust, not Facebook or websites. Elections can be won with basic politics 101.

I have been very open about my issues with Eureka City Council but I live in Eureka and you and certain candidates do not represent the change this community needs to improve.

I did this other post earlier today at 12:56 p.m.

G. Mario Fernandez and Jeff Leonard have qualified for the November 2026 election

City of Eureka Assistant City Manager and Clerk Pam Powell just informed me that current Ward 3 Eureka Councilmember G. Mario Fernandez and Ward 5 candidate Jeff Leonard have qualified for the ballot for the November 2026 election.  I previously reported that Anil Dwivedi candidate for Mayor also qualified. Eureka Mayor Bergel has qualified.

So far, the only one who does not have a challenger is Mario Fernandez. Until nomination papers are turned in, Pam cannot confirm any potential candidate.

1:57 As I was leaving Eureka City Hall, I heard Ward 1 candidate Jason McCutcheon on his way up to turn in his nomination papers with signatures to Pam.

Jeff Leonard's campaign manager Cindy Olsen the same one as in Humboldt Association of Realtors?

Rest in peace Michael

This weekend, retired former local attorney Michael Robinson passed away. There are many who knew him in the legal community but very few who he trusted and shared his life with and I spoke with those people today.

Michael was a very private person. And what I am sharing in this post does not include anything I know shared by him in confidence and privately.

He trusted me and I trusted him to share what many don't know about him or me. What he shared is not news. Normal conversations we have with people are a part of life. Michael, like most people, was not his job. He was a human being with a life and more than an attorney.

It took a long time for me to stop calling him Mr. Robinson because that is how I address most of the lawyers I see on a regular basis even if I see them outside the Humboldt Courthouse.

This post is to celebrate his life and wish him eternal peace. It is also for those people who did not know him or knew him in a limited capacity through his work to pause and think that jumping to conclusions and making assumptions about people is wrong.

In the beginning, Mr. Robinson and I were strangers only seeing each other in the courtroom. I covered a very high profile molestation case and Mr. Robinson was the defense attorney. When he reluctantly would speak with me, it was because he recognized the value and the platform. He would preface it with, "we have had our differences but I respect your work." This was in the early years of my doing local court coverage.

It went from that to "I respect you. I believe in you." He expressed sympathy for the struggles, abuse and retaliation I have faced in Humboldt.

Despite how busy he was and even after he retired, he read me daily and would call to check on me, especially when I posted about the death threats, vitriol and harassment. I did thecsame, no matter how busy I  was to call and see how he was doing.

Michael took the time to speak with me, get to know me which many do not and even if they did; I don't share my life with anyone in or associated with Humboldt because they have given me reason.

There are parts of his life he shared with me that many don't know, even in the Courthouse, who knew him for decades. I spoke with him regularly and even after he retired.

There are certain attorneys who he respected as colleagues but who were also his friends. They don't have the luxury to take time off to mourn him.

Rest in peace Michael.

A few people reached out to me privately via text and in person and thanked me. Some have shared my post and added their thoughts on Facebook. Just like Michael, I am going to respect the privacy of those on Facebook and their space as well as continue to respect Michael's privacy.

Bike stop on 4th or EPD responding to the Humboldt Public Defender's office?

(This is the Humboldt Public Defender's Office )

There is a Eureka Police Department bike stop listed on 900 block of 4th street around 9:28. That is around 4th and K. There was an EPD van parked right in front of the Humboldt Public Defender's office and I saw an EPD patrol car turn the corner at 4th and L. Given the frequent  "Humboldt Hilton regulars" that hang around those corners on 4th and same cross streets on 5th street in Eureka day and night, seeing flashing siren lights in this area is normal. If it has something to do with the Humboldt Public Defender's office, I am sure I will find out tomorrow.

Attempted murder suspect Dameon Bradfield preliminary hearing continued; defense schedules hearing since he is currently on no bail status

Attempted murder suspect Dameon Bradfield's preliminary hearing was scheduled today. Humboldt Senior Deputy DA Roger Rees objected to proceeding without a court reporter Gregory Kreis said there is outstanding discovery. Humboldt Superior Court Judge Kaleb Cockrum granted request for continuance.

OR bail on 8/3; preliminary hearing on 9/9.

Didn't do a new post because of a continuance; but if his custody status changes at the next hearing, the community should know in advance so they can give feedback to the DA's office.

8/3/26: No report from Probation. OR request withdrawn by defense. Retired Humboldt Superior Court Judge Christopher Wilson said no bail hold remains without prejudice.

Alleged molestor and child pornography suspect Shadoe Randazzo remains on no bail after preliminary hearing

I reported on alleged molestor and child pornography suspect Shadoe Randazzo arrest, his no bail status and supervised release being terminated.

Today, after preliminary hearing, he was held to answer by Humboldt Superior Court Assistant Presiding Judge Timothy Canning.

I covered Austin Porter since 2018, another waste of EPD's time on a repeat Humboldt criminal

Eureka Police Department issued this press release about repeat offender Austin Porter. His 2018 booking photo can be published.

The amount of EPD resources wasted on another repeat criminal and drug addict who refuses to change thanks to useless Gavin Newsom and soft on crime Democrats.

"My comment is that this case is about holding Shannon Miranda accountable, and I am proud to represent Rocket Dog Rescue. "

Yesterday, I did this post on Rocket Dog Rescue suing Shannon Miranda. I was the first to report and I included the complaint and photos of the three dogs.

https://johnchiv.blogspot.com/2026/07/rocket-dog-rescue-sues-shannon-miranda.html?m=1

Mr. Paul Nathan responded to my inquiry just now. I really appreciate him including the complaint, even though I have it from e court.

Dear Mr. Chiv,

Attached is the complaint. "My comment is that this case is about holding Shannon Miranda accountable, and I am proud to represent Rocket Dog Rescue. "

Former Security National employee, former Humboldt Planning Commission member and former County Assessment Appeals Board member Brian Mitchell arrested for drugs a month after my last post

For some reason his last name is always misspelled in the jail log. Former Security National employee, former Humboldt Planning Commission member and former County Assessment Appeals Board member Brian Mitchell is consistently arrested for drugs. The Humboldt County District Attorney's Office needs to stop dismissing cases and giving plea deals to repeat drug offenders.

Brian Mitchel as listed in the jail log was arrested yesterday by HCSO for PC 1203.2(a)(2) probation violation, HS 11395(b)(1) treatment mandated felony. The code is for possession of  specific hard drugs  if the offender has two or more prior convictions for specified drug-related offenses and HS 11364(a) possession of drug paraphernalia.

California laws are dumb created by legislators who are anti public safety and enabling criminals. Waste of law enforcement time arresting these repeat offenders. More waste of my time covering these repeat offenders. I am documenting this arrest so there is a record if the DA gives another plea or dismisses the case; again.

The screenshots have an old booking photo. He looks very disheveled in the current one.

Paul Gallegos submits the wrong transcript to the judge in his last minute motion in molestation trial, Whitney Timm argues on the fly and wins proving yet again why she is the best Humboldt prosecutor

I have been adding minor daily updates to the July 26 post on alleged molestor Christopher Griffin's case.

Retired Humboldt Superior Court Judge Christopher Wilson has been assigned to this trial. Senior Deputy District Attorney Whitney Timm is the prosecutor. Former Humboldt County DA and defense attorney Paul Gallegos is Griffin's attorney.

Yesterday, Mr. Gallegos made a motion for acquittal for Count 2. First, Mr. Gallegos requested a break to get the motion. Then, he was informed by Judge Wilson that the witness transcript attached to the motion was incorrect.

Ms. Timm had the correct transcript, reviewed it and was prepared to argue. That is because not only is she a competent attorney; she is the best attorney at the Humboldt County DA's office because she can argue on the fly and win. I have seen her do it many times.

Mr. Gallegos provided the correct transcript to Judge Wilson.

After arguments, Judge Wilson denied the defense motion.

Today, Yvonne Griffin testified for the defense which is surprising given the family law case. Check the July 26 post if you want more details. Christopher Griffin told Judge Wilson he will not testify.

7/29/26: Closing arguments expected tomorrow.

William Warren may get a new attorney, defense motion to dismiss in Clayton Miller off calendar

With the Humboldt online portal and regular readers knowing that I don't do a new post for minor updates but follow every hearing. If you don't check previous posts; you won't know Ms. Rebecca Linkous requested a continuance today to research conflicts or defense motion to dismiss in one of Clayton Miller's cases was taken off calendar and trial dates were set. On 7/21, the DA's office subpoenaed records for Lincoln and Warren from the Humboldt County jail. Defense objected to proceeding without a court reporter.

8/3/26: Ms. Rebecca Linkous who is representing murder suspect William Warren filed a motion on 7/30/26. E court just lists it as file declaration under seal. There is a hearing scheduled for 8/13.

8/5/26: A motion to continue was scheduled with the wrong date by the process server. Ms. Linkous continued it to 8/21 when the setting of preliminary hearing and motion to compel is scheduled. The motion to file declaration under seal was also rescheduled to 8/21.

Paul Clements should send the Humboldt DA a thank you card

First, the Humboldt County DA did not arraign Paul Clements on the rape by fraud arrest and he was released from custody. Still no charges filed when I checked today.

Today, Visiting Retired Judge Ksenia Tsenin granted the defense Serna motion in Clements' drug case filed by Humboldt Deputy Conflict Counsel RJ Leohner despite Deputy DA Alison Herson objection. Case dismissed.

Rocket Dog Rescue sues Shannon Miranda

You heard it here first.

Rocket Dog Rescue filed a lawsuit against Shannon Miranda. There is a Case Management Conference on 1/25/27. Read the complaint and court documents included for details and allegations.

I emailed Ms. Allison Jackson. Mr. Paul Nathan who represents Rocket Dog Rescue has no email. I also could not find one on the California State Bar site. Attempts to call his office resulted in my call being disconnected. I tried again later and reached the office, got Mr. Nathan's email and am waiting on a response.

I did hear from Ms. Jackson briefly. She is unavailable and not in the office today but at the time I spoke to her, she had not seen the complaint I mentioned and therefore had nothing to say.

On June 27, I reported she is providing consultation to Shannon Miranda and Miranda's Rescue.

https://johnchiv.blogspot.com/2026/06/never-have-i-seen-in-30-years-of.html?m=1

I did briefly speak with Shannon. He has not seen any complaint, was not aware what I was talking about and cannot comment on something he has not seen.

While there is a summons and notice of inclusion and Case Management Conference in Humboldt e court ,  there is no proof of service. I have been checking every day on any potential charges from the HCSO investigation or any other case being filed.  Today while doing my daily diligence I saw this lawsuit.

"This case is not about what Gregory Kreis currently earns exactly what he earns a judge."

I was the only one to cover former judge, now defense attorney Gregory Kreis before he was ousted by the voters and the Commission on Judicial Performance went public on what I reported in real time. I have been the only one to cover his family law case with Brenda Elvine.

E court in Humboldt only listed taken under submission since May but I was told Sonoma Superior Court Judge Shelly Averill who has been assigned to this case heard closing arguments on 7/12. You can read written closing arguments and other documents filed July 17 and July 20 yourself.

This is one quote from Brenda Elvine's attorney.

"This case is not about what Gregory Kreis currently earns exactly what he earns a judge. It is about whether Brenda, his wife of 30 years who supported Gregory through law school, multiple attempts at the bar exam, his rise as an attorney, and ultimately his judicial career should lose the support awarded her after less than two years because Gregory voluntarily left the bench under circumstances of his own making."

There are other court documents which are public record that I have not posted about Kreis or Elvine because they have personal and financial information including what Kreis alleges is his income and expenses. I see when he is at court, what cases he is appointed on and retained as can others who regularly work at Humboldt Superior Court.

It is common knowledge by now that Gregory Kreis is now married to Tanya Ellis who works at Humboldt Superior Court. I have no clue if she goes by Tanya Kreis informally now or formerly but her state bar profile lists Ellis as her last name.

The letter mentioned in the Mr. Kelly Walsh's closing brief was published by me, it is was on the list of exhibits and Mr. Walsh saying local media when locals and those California and national readers who follow me regularly know exactly who published it and first is well known.

I no longer include links to all previous posts and have explained why many times. Every post can be accessed for free via the search feature or the blog. Most people read me daily and for convenience, there are paid, customized options. I have included two relevant screenshots pertinent to the closing argument for Kreis.

Those supposed to protect the innocent and Tristan Mitchell's "alleged" victims failed them, I hope this case exposes every single one of them

I report on many arrests first and follow cases regularly. Alleged molestor Tristan Mitchell is one of those cases.

Today, I received an email about Mitchell. I am not going to share all of it for privacy and the case has yet to go to preliminary hearing. Some of this information may come out in court. At the last hearing, the DA was asked to provide foster care documents to defense. I hope it does because it is time that the systems supposed to protect the innocent are exposed for the failure they are.

I have worked for CWS, I have had reports ignored by CWS where I suspected alleged abuse. I have exposed local law enforcement, the courts and even the DA's office when appropriate. This is not the first tip or email I have received about other local media ignoring someone. It won't be the last.

In this case, it was the Times Standard and local news. In other instances, it has been TS and certain local media I call out regularly.

I got permission and will share some parts for now. Does' sister has shared some information about Doe 1 that is confidential.

This is not in chronological order. There is a lot more that I may or may not share in the future.

"Hello John,

My name is redacted for privacy. (Doe 1 and 2’s) sister.

First off, I wanted to say thank you for putting the story out there.

As hard as it was to read some of that stuff.. it needs to be said."

"I wanted to add, I reported Tristan Mitchell to CWS over 20+ times.

It was his friends like name redacted for a few reasons (Social worker) that kept him safe and under the radar. It was also The local Adoption Agency in eureka that refused to listen to allegations and report to CWS as well.

The only ones who did take the time to listen was Shar-lo Kelly the Humboldt private investigator and the foster care Ombudsman of California.

I wanted to directly reach out and thank you for posting 💜

I think the part that makes me sick, I emailed the time standard, and the local news with IN DETAIL things way before Tristan was even arrested or charged etc.. they did nothing. He sat in the comfortability of his own home, getting children from out of county (Shasta country Social services to be exact)."

"I can’t tell you how many people I reached out to about Tristan and none of them would listen."

8/12/26: Prelimimary hearing continued by defense to 10/15.

Sharon Wolff's tribute to her mom Barbara

(Photo submitted by Sharon)

I do not publish obituaries but I have made exceptions for families I have known for years if they send a submission.

Sharon Wolff just sent me this obituary "for my mom, Barbara L. Bareuther (Keller) who passed away recently at Timber Ridge.  The funeral home in charge is Ayers but there are no services planned."

I just spoke with Sharon to offer my condolences. In addition to the loss of her mom, Sharon has chosen to share some of the difficulties she had to deal with in the obituary. What she told me will remain private conversations. I did cover the court case and who the local attorney was but this is Sharon's tribute to her mom and out of respect to Sharon and her wishes; this post will focus on Barbara's life.

Jeff Leonard's page has 1 follower, no likes no comments since July 19

Checked this page now. Last post 4 days ago. July 19 was the first post. Not one like, not one comment and only 1 follower.

Damn! At least Anil Dwivedi's wife Jarka and another family member liked his posts. I am not giving credit to Dwivedi because his 565 followers show 1 name but Jeff is a former Eureka City Councilmember and he grew up in Eureka unlike Dwivedi.

I don't live in Ward 5 anymore and cannot vote for Renee but she is the only Eureka City Councilmember I like, speak to and contact with my concerns as a resident.

His new AI flyer looks like recycled content from other Better for Eureka groups. Proven commitment to Eureka? Lol.
