Yet another continuance in this case.
Homicide suspects Ian Pease and Travontae Hutson had a hearing yesterday on a motion to continue. Ms. Kathleen Bryson represents Pease. She requested the continuance because she recently received a lot of discovery. Judge Gregory Elvine-Kreis granted the motion.
Dates currently scheduled were vacated for both defendants. Trial confirmation was rescheduled for 10/3; jury trial for 10/17.
Hutson's attorney, Mr. Zach Curtis, told Judge Elvine-Kreis he intends to file 170.6. Judge Elvine-Kreis said it was untimely. Mr Curtis responded he can file 5 days before hearing.
I am not going to link all my previous posts on Judge Elvine-Kreis including the disqualifications by public defenders and private attorneys. He doesn't even understand how plea forms are filled out and needs attorneys to explain basics to him.
Due to the useless California Judicial Council and California Commission on Judicial Performance dragging their feet on their investigation, the good ole boy Humboldt network and Humboldt bench members who enable this Humboldt's man child, we are stuck with this unprofessional fool as Humboldt's Presiding Judge. He is the only Judge throws a hissy fit when there is a disqualification against him.
Instead of accepting why there are so many 170.6 filed against him and changing his arrogant, insecure behavior, Humboldt's Napolean digs his heels in deeper. I think the Humboldt Superior good ole boys and gals thought by this time the Rory Kalin lawsuit would have disappeared.
I don't have the time to cover all the cases and lives Elvine-Kreis has ruined due to his ineptness. Search the blog and read what I have written, the court records and Appeal.Court rulings.
This is the same Judge who changed the Grand jury policy in place if you followed the County vs Karen Paz Dominguez soap opera.
10/3: For Pease 10/17 date vacated. Defense continuance granted. Next court dates 1/9 and 1/23 for setting of preliminary hearing and trial setting.
For Travontae Hutson, trial confirmation on 1/9/23 and jury trial on 1/30 in one case. Trial setting in another case.
I am not doing further updates unless a case resolves, goes to trial or there is an update on the preliminary hearing. There have been several continuances.
1/9/23: Homicide case jury trial confirmed for 1/30.Motion for joinder granted. Rest of Pease's cases are trailing.
