Tavin Evans who I call Tavin the terrible based on my coverage of this repeat offender and career criminal Tavin Evans since 2022. Last October, I heard from a reader in San Francisco.
Evans, like many Humboldt criminals follows my Facebook page, has gone off on me on Facebook and even acted out in court not just with me but his behavior in court was once admonished by Retired Humboldt Superior Court Judge Christopher Wilson.
Evans has a 2026 case which includes prior conviction special allegation, several charges of PC 288 (c) (1) lewd acts on a child, PC 287 (b) (2) oral copulation with a minor, PC 261.5 (d) statutory rape and HS 11353(c) selling drugs to a minor. Alleged incidents took place near Eureka High School and Hammond Park. Meth is the drug mentioned in complaint.
You can read the detailed complaint in the March 2026 post. That post also has screenshots of all my coverage on him. Most of my readers are already familiar with him.
He was last represented by Ms. Rebecca Linkous who constantly made excuses for him. His current court appointed attorney is Ms. Andrea Sullivan.
Tavin is the typical unrepentant loser. He needs to go directly to prison. He has been given chances for treatment. He knows the system and drags out cases for years. Humboldt judges need to reign in this loser and stop him from abusing the court's time and resources. He had 43 cases in the system in 2023. Tavin has several aliases.
I already did a post yesterday on my Facebook page on Tavin's preliminary hearing in the alleged molestation, statutory rape and drug case. He was held to all charges in CR2600636 by Retired Humboldt Superior Court Judge John Feeney. Eureka Police Detective Mark Sheldon testified for the People. This is Senior Deputy District Attorney Whitney Timm's case.
While the preliminary hearing was handled by Deputy DA Jessica Watson, the case was charged by Ms. Timm and all the work to this point by her. I have covered many cases, trials daily and at every hearing by Ms. Timm and too many molestation cases to count. As I have said many times, Humboldt County and victims are very lucky to have Ms. Timm.
Arraignment on information in the 2026 case is on 9/23. Diversion review in CR2300358 was continued to 9/23.
Tavin, on behalf of your victims over the years, law enforcement; especially EPD and all law abiding citizens in Humboldt and myself; we are sick of seeing your name on the jail log and tired of court resources wasted on you. Ms. Sullivan is not an attorney you deserve and it is at taxpayers expense. You have thrown away chance after chance to change your life. I don't feel sorry for someone who choses repeatedly to be in the situation you are. San Francisco is sick of you. That says something. I hope you are not granted diversion again but based on my coverage of Humboldt Superior Court, that could happen unless a judge has the guts to make you face consequences and sentence you to prison.
