Protective order modified in attempted murder case, expert doctor evaluations to be paid by the County

 

I have been adding minor updates to both posts on attempted murder Blaine Becksted.

If you did not read the June 28, 2026 post, you need to because this a follow up from updates added to that post.

On 9/9/26, Ms. Joanne Carter present in court for the alleged victim. Defense request to modify protective order granted by Retired Humboldt Superior Court Judge John Feeney. Senior Deputy DA Roger Rees present for the People. Ms. Andrea Sullivan for Becksted.

On 9/2/26, doctors appointed to evaluate Becksted. Trial setting continued to 12/18/26 with receipt of expert reports. There can be several continuances for doctor reports so minor updates will be added to this post. Senior Deputy DA Whitney Timm was present for the People. She agreed  with Ms. Sullivan to the appointment of Dr. Perkins and Dr. Chamberlain. Humboldt Superior Court Judge Steven Steward signed the order. Doctors to be paid at County expense.
