Judge Averill found Brenda Elvine credible; she found Gregory Kreis' testimony regarding his current income to lack credibility

Sonoma Superior Court Judge Shelly Averill issued her tentative ruling on the issues in Gregory Kreis vs Brenda Elvine on September 4, 2026.

The document was available today in Humboldt Superior Court.

I am including the entire document for you to read for yourself.

Some highlights:

On page 2, Judge Averill found Brenda Elvine credible. Judge Averill found Gregory Kreis' testimony regarding his current income to lack credibility.

On page 14, Kreis' request to modify spousal support was granted. Kreis' request to terminate spousal support was denied.

On page 15, Elvine will get spousal support of $1,800 per month. Elvine's request for attorney fees and sanctions was denied.

If objections are not made, this will be the final ruling.

Local attorney Kelly Walsh represented Kreis. Mr. David Lederman represented Elvine.

I have covered Kreis for years in real time;  when he was a judge; after his irrevocable resignation as part of a deal with the Commission on Judicial Performance; now as an attorney and his family law case.  There are way too many posts to link over the years. Those interested have read them all. I included three screenshots of the three previous and recent posts on the family law case.
