Continuances and nothing happening in cases for months is normal in Humboldt criminal cases for months and years

 

Stalking and criminal threats suspect David Orluck and former CalTrans employee David Orluck has two cases. 

There have been a lot of continuances and with each continuance, what is proposed does not happen.

These are updates, I added to the August 3, 2026. 

On 8/31, the preliminary hearing in both cases continued by defense to 9/2 for potential resolution. On 9/2, preliminary hearing was continued to 9/22 by stipulation. No resolution. New discovery was not received yet by the people. On 9/22, his preliminary hearing was continued by defense to 9/24 due due to new discovery from the people and possible amended complaint.

Gregory Kreis is Orluck's attorney. On 9/24, Deputy DA Candace Myers appeared on the case for the People. I have included court minutes for the changes in bail, why it was continued again. There is no amended complaint in the Humboldt Superior Court system and nothing indicated in the court minutes.
