After Meserve's Pitchess motion is granted, County Counsel wants a protective order for records

Convicted rapist Kailan Meserve's Pitchess motion was granted in his habeas corpus case on July 25. County Counsel discussed submitting a protective order which means that the media and public may not know anything unless there is a trial.

Pitchess motion is a defendant's request to inspect a law enforcement officer’s personnel file to see if there is evidence of police misconduct.

Trial confirmation is on 8/15; trial assignment on 8/26 and habeas corpus hearing on 8/29.
