In 2023, Humboldt DA dismissed a homicide case against convicted felon Matthew Susmilch, yesterday he was arrested by HCSO on a warrant for fugitive from justice, domestic violence and probation violation

On November 16, 2023, at trial confirmation, the Humboldt County District Attorney dismissed a homicide case against convicted felon Matthew Gabriel Susmilch.

Yesterday, HCSO arrested Susmilch on a bench warrant for PC 1551(a) fugitive from justice, PC 273.5(a) corporal injury to a spouse/cohabitant and PC 1203.2(a) probation violation.
