After intervention, attempted murder suspect James LaBranche's case is scheduled for a change of plea on the same day as the preliminary hearing

 

Attempted murder and criminal threats suspect James LaBranche already has a conviction for domestic violence.

Yesterday, Humboldt Superior Court Judge Steven Steward met with Deputy District Attorney Victoria Reierstad and Deputy Public Defender Casey Russo. Tomorrow a preliminary hearing was previously scheduled; now a change of plea has been entered.

I reported previously that at his bail hearing on 1/15, alleged victim Jane Doe asked for the criminal protective order to be modified to peaceful contact so a potential resolution is not a shocker.

I am not doing another new post on this case tomorrow so whatever happens; I will add an update to this post.
