Charges for the February arrest were filed by the Humboldt County DA on 2/3/26. One count of PC 459 burglary. Alleged victim Monte Lee Turner. DA filed complaint on 2/3/26. Luna was arraigned on 2/4; Public Defender's Office appointed; bail $55,000; preliminary hearing on 2/18.
In my February 2, 2026 post, I reported that Luna has a previous 2026 case filed 1/13/26 for criminal threats and vandalism. Luna was granted supervised release on 1/16/26 by Humboldt Superior Court Judge Lawrence Killoran. Pre trial in that case on 2/18; preliminary hearing on 3/11. The alleged victim in the case filed on 1/13/26 is Dane Malcome Carr.
Dane Carr is a name that some may remember. As will some of you, especially law enforcement who remember the days of Verbena outside the Courthouse.
I covered a Dane Carr previously and his middle name is M. In another previous post on that Carr his middle name is listed and it is Malcome. Unless there are two Dana Malcome Carr's in Humboldt, the alleged victim is Luna's January 2026 case is the same guy I covered in 2015. I did a google search and only one Dana Carr, Dana M. Carr and Dana Malcolm Carr comes up.
I have linked the previous coverage. In 2015, when I covered a case involving a Dane Carr filed by the City of Eureka, he was sentenced to jail. Carr refused a plea agreement in that case and it cost the City of Eureka thousands of dollars.
Now Humboldt Deputy District Attorney Candace Myers, in 2015 was a Deputy City Attorney. I went though that Dane M. Carr's local court cases in 2015. He had won a jury trial against Grocery Outlet; he had a couple cases dismissed and there are less than 10 cases, all involving camping in public against Carr.
