Thank you Judge Steward for not allowing yet another needless continuance for "Chicago John" and "KGB"'s criminal case

 

Human trafficking and money laundering suspects Uonan Uonan aka "Chicago John" and Nicholas Machado and "KGB"'s Humboldt Superior Court 2024 criminal case has been dragging on with needless continuances and the same reasons for years.

Thank you Judge Steven Steward for not allowing Deputy District Attorney Ian Harris and Deputy Public Defender Casey Russo to request yet another continuance for a setting and setting a preliminary hearing date on 4/28/26 due to the age of the case.

What additional investigation is there to do at this point years later? Settlement discussions were going on since 2024.

Both defendants are out of custody. If they cannot reach a resolution by now; go to preliminary hearing and take your chance instead of abusing the criminal justice system for endless delays.
