"This is in regards to Charane Sirrine. There’s a lot more to the story. Her older son, a senior at St B, was the victim of a hazing in Michigan during their travel football game, where he was dragged from the shower, thrown out on the balcony, photographed and distributed. Hence all the recent St Bernard’s football suspensions."

This is a post yesterday on the arrest of Charane Sirrine by EPD which was a result of an incident at a St. Bernard's Academy football game.

I exchanged a series of emails last night with the person who provided me this tip including questions why, if there was any connection to the Sirrines and the identity of this person will remain confidential as requested.

I have a series of emails saved from St. Bernard's Academy about previous media inquiries about being told what to report or not report including me contacting them about Matt Tomlin and a lot of attitude. I went back and forth because I take the risk to report what others do not and I don't need to go over all of that for the nth time.

I am including parts of my email exchange.  This is not a defense of Charane Sirrine's behavior. Regardless of whether the DA files charges or not; Sirrine posted bond so it could be months. The report can also be rejected.

I initially passed on this tip. The person respected my decision. Then the person chose to trust me and took a leap of faith.

Original tip: "This is in regards to Charane Sirrine. There’s a lot more to the story. Her older son, a senior at St B, was the victim of a hazing in Michigan during their travel football game, where he was dragged from the shower, thrown out on the balcony, photographed and distributed. Hence all the recent St Bernard’s football suspensions.

The kid is a great kid, all the kids get along, and just want this to go away. Unfortunately it doesn’t seem possible now.

Due to the culture at St Bernard’s, cracking someone may be hard… "

Ultimately after a series of questions, I decided to do the post. I cannot share what the person told me because the person requested anonymity but answered my questions honestly about why this person contacted me and why they know this information. What I have shared in this post  are snippets from our exchanges. I asked for some independent verification and evidence. The person shared what they could and that is confidential to protect my source.

More from email exchange:

Me: " What happened today was enough for EPD to arrest her. I am not her advocate or her lawyer. You are making these claims and giving me no independent evidence to verify these."

Person: I am not defending her racism. I do know for fact. I don’t know if it will come out. And I respect you for not jumping on every unverified tip. If it does come out, and you’re not the first to report, I understand you stand on business and a process of verification, rather than a need to be the first every time.

I appreciate you and continue to follow your page. "

Ultimately, I decided to do this post. I sent the following questions to St. Bernard's Academy Principal Paul Shanahan and co principal Catherine Scott early a.m. about the alleged hazing and also what precautions they plan to put in place to avoid what happened at the football game leading to Sirrine's arrest.

Based on many of the faculty and staff at St. Bernard's who also attend St. Bernard's Academy and the good ole Humboldt boys and gals not responding to me because they think they can get away with it; I am not expecting any response and if I get one; I will be surprised if it is substantive.

I did this post before misinformation or anons start spreading any information online or through other sites. There have already been some hints. I have seen some people's comments online, including one from a good ole boy sycophant and a gossip who likes to smear others and who gave me incorrect information in the past which I did not post. I was surprised this person commented commented despite being a local business owner who rides on the coattails of other good ole Humboldt boys. I smell Humboldt drama miles away about this incident among all parties involved.

If St. Bernard's responds; it will be added to this post. St. Bernard's should have released a statement after the EPD press release.
