DOJ asked Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk to review list of names which the federal government believes are likely noncitizens and determine if any citizens are listed. At least one media outlet claimed this letter was leaked to them by the LA Recorder/Clerk. The headlines on this letter and the 48 hours are so misleading. This is why fake news resonates with people who see it happen too often.
