Alleged rapist Darrius Upshaw had yet another unexpected delay today. Court started late.
Upshaw was not present nor was his attorney, Mr. Russ Clanton. When the trial will resume is up in the air.
Judge Kelly Neel suggested next Thursday. Deputy District Attorney Carolyn Schaffer suggested Tuesday. Whether any testimony will resume on that day is uncertain.
John Doe #2 was scheduled to fly home this morning. That was delayed due to Mr. Clanton wanting him to stay and not agreeing he testify via Zoom. John Doe #2's flight was rescheduled to next Thursday.
John Doe #1 finished testimony yesterday. John Doe #2 testified yesterday. APD Detective Sgt. Chris Ortega and APD Officer very briefly testified yesterday about Upshaw's cell phone and chain of custody.
Mr. Clanton, once again, objected to the People introducing Upshaw's web searches because he is not tech savvy with the Cellebrite software.
I will post John Doe #1 and #2's testimony in a separate post.
