Bomb squad at Broadway and Washington

Bomb squad at Broadway and W. Washington is on the way. Shelter in place. EPD on scene. 

"One of those little green camping tanks fell out of a vehicle, got run over and is leaking," said Corbett Petersen. Initially he thought bomb squad was on scene because "guys in flak jackets and riot shields showed up and are hiding."

The device was in the street for an hour. Six River Solar employees were busy working. Someone called EPD, Corbett Petersen does not know who that was but "EPD swarmed in."

A brief update by EPD on Facebook: "Eureka Police is investigating a suspicious device located at Broadway and W Washington.  HCSO bomb squad is on their way.  Businesses in the area have been advised to shelter in place.  Expect traffic delays in the area.  Please avoid the area and reroute accordingly.  We will update here.  Thank you."

I have contacted EPD. 

10:57 : bomb squad is still not on scene. 11:54 Bomb squad showed up. 12:22 Corbett Petersen says, "Situation has resolved. One of their crew just kicked the thing across the street towards their disposal trailer. Traffic flowing freely now."
