Dean Brown arrested on child molestation charge

Dean Lawrence Brown arrested by Arcata Police Department yesterday for PC 288 (a),  lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14. Bail is $75,000.

With these kind of charges, bail could be increased at arraignment.

APD Lt. Todd Dokweiler told me,"Dean Brown, 55, of Arcata was arrested last night for PC 288(a). The incident was reported by the parent of the survivor. As the charge indicates, the survivor is a child under 14. We’re not at a point in the investigation where we are able to release any more information."
