Inmate from jail today was put on the wrong elevator leading to the escape attempt

This afternoon there were reports that there was a search for an inmate who had escaped the Humboldt County Correctional Facility. Elevators are used to transport inmates from the jail to the Courthouse.

According to the Courthouse watercooler/grapevine, the inmate was put on the wrong elevator. Deputies were combing the courthouse, including the basement. Fortunately, due to the work of deputies, this time, the inmate was returned into custody.
