"We forgot to turn livestream on" is getting old

Instead of a fancy new site, maybe the local court administration could work on functioning with efficiency and transparency.

It has happened most frequently in Courtroom 2 and cases are called. No apology. Most of the time, it is Judge Kaleb Cockrum. Lately, he is running late.

Humboldt Superior Court has made no effort to provide victims, defendants, media and public to e court records and it is now 15 months due to COVID closures. The second floor remains closed to media and the public.

This is not transparency or conducting open court. Humboldt has sucked regarding this but it is becoming worse.

There are all these new rules with the dictators in charge in the joke that is Humboldt Superior Court making things difficult for attorneys, victims and defendants. Now for judicial intervention, attorneys must make a request from court operations.

All these informal preliminary calls done in closed courtrooms and other changes have done bupkus. That is because the problem is the morons in charge putting other incompetents in charge of tasks that require skills and time management.

Why do we still need retired Judges covering calendars? All the local Judges are here. All this costs money.

Judges and courts get away with this because Humboldt and California sucks at oversight of corruption, government and bureaucracy. The rest of California courts are not having so many issues with livestreams and providing access.

Maybe they have competent people in charge and people capable of showing respect to taxpayers who pay their salaries. Certain Humboldt Judges need to stop making their fellow Judges pick up the slack.

Humboldt Judges, the CEO and top management in court make pretty good money. They would be fired in  private industry for such incompetence.

We are in a terrible backlog and have Judges taking vacations like these are normal times. Elvine-Kreis works half a day. What does he do when Courtroom 6 is not in session? While he was off, other Judges had to cover his calendar. And we wonder why there is a Humboldt court backlog, constantly.

This whole can you "approach" for every little thing like scheduling and turning livestream on and off is immature behavior by people who shouldn't be in power and have their jobs due to the good ole rural, small town bs that maintains corruption and incompetence. The state has to get involved to get local agencies to do their jobs.

It is time for the state agencies that monitor courts to justify why with all these issues and the current Assistant Presiding Judge Elvine-Kreis involved in two lawsuits, this nonsense is allowed to continue.

Why isn't Humboldt Superior Court upfront about short staffing and certain employees no longer being there because that is certainly affecting the delays and chaos that affects people's lives and livelihood.
