Sentencing for Jeff Tsarnas had been rescheduled twice already and today was continued again to June 15. It will not proceed that day because the defense has filed a motion to continue and there is no opposition by the People.
It was stated in court that there was no appearance by Tsarnas or his attorney. A no bail warrant was issued by Judge Timothy Canning that will be held until June 15.
Tsarnas' attorney, Deputy Conflict Counsel April Van Dyke, was in another courtroom. The bailiff could have easily checked as they do many times or the clerk.
A jury found Tsarnas guilty of VC 20001 (a), hit and run involving injury or death. Defense was going to file a motion for new trial. That was not mentioned today.
Deputy District Attorney Roger Rees appeared for the People.
Mr. Patrik Griego said he was no longer Marie Kelly's attorney. Why was he in court today for the Tsarnas case?
