"I am guilty but I am not guilty"

"I want a dark judge"

"I am guilty but I am not guilty"

Kristi Caprice Hostler did not want an attorney because she said "they do not listen to me anyway."

She admitted to a dagger but said that she was trying to protect her child. Hostler ranted about cameras watching her and about cooks in the jail and "they" trying to kill her. She refused to allow arraignment to proceed and then got up from the jail conference room desk and walked away and wanted to return to her cell. She refused to answer if she wanted the form she needs to fill out to represent herself. She doesn't want meds.

Hostler has 10 previous cases. She is on mental health diversion and was being arraigned on a new charge of carrying/concealing a dirk or dagger.

Hostler was  arrested on June 5 by Eureka Police Department for PC1203.2(A)(2), PC148(A)(1), PC21310.

Judge Christopher Wilson came close to declaring doubt after Hostler repeatedly cussed, would not stop discussing her case, ranted and refused to listen to Judge Wilson or Deputy Public Defender Adrian Kamada.

The Public Defender's office has been appointed for now unless Hostler fills out the form and decides to represent herself. To preserve her constitutional rights, not guilty pleas were entered on her behalf.

This is yet another example that instead of a pilot program,  Laura's Law is permanently needed in Humboldt.
