Humboldt Superior Court continues to enable the incompetent, unprofessional buffoon in Courtroom Six. The taxpayers, the community, the staff are all impacted but most of it is the people unfortunate enough to have their lives and livelihood destroyed because they had the misfortune of being assigned to Assistant Presiding Judge Gregory Elvine-Kreis.
I have personally sat in that courtroom and watched on livestream the devastation this so called "Judge" has inflicted. I have seen his refusal to recuse himself when there is a clear bias.
Now, Judge Kelly Neel is stuck cleaning up the mess Elvine-Kreis created in the Ben Erickson and Gemma Erickson case.
I waited to share the information about this family law case until today because 1. I actually think of the interest of the person contacting me; they are not a headline 2. I wanted to see what Elvine-Kreis would do 3. My strategy and timing have a reason. It is what makes me effective.
Elvine-Kreis should not be listening to any cases. He does not even know legal concepts like Bates numbering is and he is a Judge?
Comments left on the Robing Room are a smidgen of what this unqualified moron does and he should never have been appointed to this position.
He is abusive, a bully and the current Humboldt Superior Court Presiding Judge Hinrichs and court administration enable him by getting rid of and attempting to silence anyone who stands up to him and tries to inform the public.
His courtroom is the only one right now with appearance by livestream where the public is not allowed.
Sai Rose maybe a vexatious litigant but he was not wrong about Elvine-Kreis and his biased rulings. He won an appeal and it was an Elvine-Kreis ruling.

Ben Erickson first contacted me in May. Ben Erickson's email excerpts are in italics. I am not going to list everything because it is already a lengthy post and it is about a family law case. There is information not relevant to the subject in this post.
First Excerpt:
"I have an interesting history involving this judge and unethical behavior. His wife works at the Breast and GYN Project where my wife was her client for a year and a half prior to trial. A fact never disclosed. Brenda also facilitated the young women's with breast cancer support group that my wife was a part of. "
"Elvine granted move away to England where I've not seen my child since. I've filed 2 DQs but each have been denied as I've not been able to prove that Brenda and my ex are tight, and the judge claims his disclosure was complete. I only discovered the truth after trial."
However, there are now public facebook comments on my exs facebook page made by Brenda on my exs most recent post. One of which Brenda is even asking my ex to be her wife...jokingly, but maybe not..."
"His modus opperandi is to make rulings favorable to his wife's client/friend prior to the YouTube livestream. This judge is bad as you've noticed. I welcome you to view first hand how he treats me vs his wife's client."
Second excerpt
I will send some more stuff in a day or so showing the Judge's original disclosures followed by his defense to disqualification containing clear lies that prevented me from getting an un biased judge. I do have a third DQ in the works with these most recent posts by Brenda. However, I've lost all faith in the system and believe that my best chance for change is by going public.
Coincidently, the very first order that this judge made in my case was on the Tuesday after his now infamous Memorial weekend at Lake Shasta. I was called first, emergency change of custody granted. Ill send the transcripts of that hearing as well.
Third excerpt:
"Thank you for taking the time to look into this very questionable ethical behavior of Humboldt county's only Family Law Judge. I speak out as I know that I'm not the only one who he acts so unprofessional and unethical with. I just want my case and his actions in it to be known. "
"Please find attached the transcript from February first of this year. Brenda's comments on Gemma's facebook were made on March 10th."

I have personally seen and witnessed this Judge cut off people, especially pro per parties and be biased.
You have to pay for a court reporter in civil and family law proceedings. Humboldt Superior Court takes full advantage of the fact that most people do not have the money, time to keep fighting the system or another litigant. This only emboldens the bully pulpit that is prevalent in the local court system and in Humboldt.

"I've hired Kelly Walsh who filed my 3rd DQ yesterday with Brenda's comments as evidence. Judge Elvine-Kries recused himself first thing this morning without hesitation. Brenda's Facebook comments are now removed and I'm blocked from seeing her page anymore. He knew it was wrong the entire time to be on my case. And steadfastly remained until I could prove with his wife's own words that Brenda and Gemmas relationship was more than a work one. He knew exactly what he was doing."
Elvine-Kreis is named in two lawsuits by former Deputy Public Defender Rory Kalin. I have written other posts about him. This includes information from an inside source in the California Judicial Commission that he was being investigated. Nothing is released unless they chose to go public and they do not comment on private investigations. What happened to that investigation?

"There is currently an investigation going on about a court employee allegedly gossiping about Judge Elvine-Kreis having an affair with another court employee. I won't put any other details because it would identify the woman. Judge Elvine-Kreis and his wife were briefly separated. Whether it was because of this alleged affair, the Rory Kalin lawsuit allegations or something else, who knows?"
She isn't the only one who knew. This is a small town. There is no privacy. Gossiping is a second job for many people here. If you don't want your business being talked about, then don't be a blatant asshole where what you are doing is common knowledge at your workplace and all over town.
This Judge doesn't even hide his unprofessional, buddy relationship with his Public Defender bros while court is in session. What a joke and unworthy of wearing a black robe.
That employee is no longer at Humboldt Superior Court. She worked there for years. If you want to fire someone or get rid of them and you are the last and only resort locally and the persons wanting to shut you up are in charge of the local courts and they get to be in charge of the hearing that determines your fate, who will stop them?
You have a Skelly hearing in which the very people who want to silence you get to determine your fate. There has been more than one employee let go.
Humboldt Superior Court starting with the current Presiding Judge, the Assistant Presiding Judge, the CEO and Court Operations Manager should be investigated. How many more cases and lives have been destroyed where the law was not followed? The collusion allegations in the Kalin lawsuit should be investigated because they involve Elvine-Kreis and others involved in the local court system.
There are other employees that have are no longer there. People that left under the previous court CEO. The new CEO didn't make a difference because the same issues and players tainting the local courts remain. Remember the Socorro Cervantes scandal?
The California Judicial Council and California Judicial Commission have failed Humboldt and they have failed all over California. I have done posts on this topic with links from other media and watchdogs exposing the joke and no accountability of the California courts.
Maybe the Kalin lawsuits are just the start of karmic justice to bring down the tainted Humboldt "kangaroo court."
People are figuring out whether it is Humboldt courts, politics, business, that they should get the word out and who to go to to get the word inside and outside Humboldt so the locals who enable cannot cover it up. People are hiring lawyers outside Humboldt and they should. Humboldt has no degrees of separation.
The woman that allegedly is/was involved with Elvine-Kreis has filed for divorce. Coincidentally, so has Elvine-Kreis but I can't find any divorce record in the e court system. So is it under seal? That is the only explaination or access is denied. Either option is a blatant abuse of power.
Elvine-Kreis has no issue passing judgement and making poor rulings and having other people's personal lives displayed and humiliating them in court and on livestream and yet, he gets to abuse his position as a local Judge and cover up information that may be relevant to behavior alleged in the Kalin lawsuits?

Elvine-Kreis has the worst reputation in the Robing Room among Humboldt Judges, sucked as an attorney and his personal and unprofessional behavior is a national embarassment to the legal profession and to Humboldt.
There are many in the legal field, policy makers and those who actually make a difference and in position of power who read this blog locally, regionally and nationally. People who value their privacy and are not going to be reflected in social media likes, follows or comments. Do not assume who reads me or listens to me. Do not assume who I know or contacts me or who has access to information on this blog.
I care about my readers like Ben, the kind reader who sent me a letter this week and those who support my independent reporting.
The local gossip and comment sections that people turn for information have achieved zero change in decades. The other "media" outlets do not report, do not take on the local corruption or establishment.
The haters can deny me credit; but my immediate results and effectiveness is known from the glares, petulance and change in behavior. Results matter and that is success; I am not vying for a popularity contest or to be a tool for the ineffective status quo that prevents Humboldt from reaching the full potential.
