Career criminal Kevin Haberman had trial confirmation this morning. It was continued to tomorrow.
Whether the jury trial scheduled for June 21 will proceed depends on discovery that Deputy District Attorney Jane Mackie has yet to provide to Mr. Zach Curtis.
An offer had been made at the last hearing. Deputy DA Trent Timm appeared on the case for the People.
Haberman and many other defendants made the headlines with a drug task force bust and not much is happening with any of those cases.
6/11: Mr. Michael Acosta specifically appeared for Haberman on his civil forfeiture case. A 50/50 spilt was agreed upon and this civil matter is "trailing" the criminal case.
Mr. Curtis made an oral motion to continue due to significant discovery that is still outstanding. Ms. Mackie did not object.
The June 21 date was vacated. Trial confirmation was reset for January 20; jury trial for January 31.
