Alleged victim confirms statements from defense opening

Brandon Watson jury trial was "dark" on the afternoon of June 15 and all day on June 16. Today, testimony focused on the 2016 incident at the Pearl.

So far, the testimony from the People's witness definitely backs up the defense statements about shades of grey; "immature, young adults who made bad decisions" and "The prosecution will try to make heroes and villains; there are none. "

Brian Edwards, one of the alleged victims named in the assault charge testified.

During cross examination by Ms. Andrea Sullivan, Edward, he confirmed what was said in the defense opening. Edwards admitted the initial interaction with Watson was not confrontational. He confirmed, "I kinda laughed at him." At first he disputed saying the white guy part of the statement, then he was shown a summary of his interview. Edwards did admit to saying "I don't give a shit man."

Edwards said initially, he did not want to testify.

The Pearl bartender could not and did not identify Watson. Said with Old Town street lights, he remembers a white individual with long hair on street clothing and could not definitively identify the individual.  He talked more about Edwards and  Antony Besselieu-Hill. He asked them to leave. Bouncers outside were dealing with other individuals.

5/21: Besselieu-Hill's blood alcohol level was twice the limit that night. He was very defensive and I already knew that he would do worse than Edwards during cross examination.
