Like typical politicians, BOS authorize a pilot program for Laura's Law

A pilot program will get the heat off the Board of Supervisors and those against it can claim they tried. DHHS will come back hoping the public has moved on so they don't have to make it permanent.

Second District Supervisor Michelle Bushnell was the only one who gets the need for Laura's Law.

The rest of the media did nothing for years to cover Laura's Law, did nothing recently until Dr. Wilson, NAMI and several of my posts on this blog. Then, a couple of other local media outlets did some superficial coverage where the politicians get to pretend they care and get PR instead of being asked the tough questions.

I hope I am wrong and the pilot program leads to Laura's Law being permanent in Humboldt. The pilot program is better than nothing.

Also on the agenda, more litigation in closed session, including an EEOC complaint. The amount of money spent by the County fighting litigation could fund Laura's law and more.
