Leslie, "the eager question asker", as you described yourself this evening. Instead of wasting Humboldt Bay Fire Chief Sean Robertson's time and Eureka Police Department Crime Analyst and PIO Brittany Powell's time with questions, why don't you listen to constituents and businesses that are not a part of your clique?
People who have invested in this community for years and employ people. The tax paying base continue to operate local businesses, despite challenge after challenge and a business environment which has worsened in the last few years. This Council is tone deaf to concerns unless it suits your agenda.
Brittany prepared a very comprehensive report tonight. She does not need to do a further analysis of 41,000 calls for a stupid reason you could not even articulate.
Unlike City Hall, EPD and HBF work hard. We see it every day. They have to pick up the slack for the unaddressed issues in Eureka that politicians refuse to address or fix. I am so grateful to EPD and HBF.
These two departments have to present reports when we can see the results with our own eyes.
How about justifying the money this Council and the City departments get? Maybe you could waste more money and hire an outside firm to analyze what this Council cost the taxpayers every unproductive minute? The rest of the local media is too busy sucking up or looking the other way to hold you accountable.
EPD and HBF are lighthouses in the crap created by the useless elected officials in Eureka. The current City Council and Mayor cannot even fake listening to Eureka's citizens like the past Councilmembers.
