So far, there has been more time spent with Mr. Rees "asking to approach" and some irrelevant questions than on voir dire

Individual questioning of jurors started last week in murder suspect Brandon Watson's case. Selection from the entire pool started late on June 7 and today.

Ms. Andrea Sullivan is Watson's attorney. Deputy District Attorney Roger Rees is the prosecutor.

Court did not start until 2:16 on  June 7. Judge Lawrence Killoran apologized to jurors for the late start, only to inform them that they needed to return at 3:05 p.m. Eight jurors were asked to stay behind. Livestream was turned off. Resumed around 3:30 for an hour.

So far, there has been more time spent with Mr. Rees "asking to approach" and some irrelevant questions than on voir dire.

In the afternoon, Ms. Sullivan asked questions about self defense, how jurors felt about a defendant not testifying and an excellent question which resulted in one female juror admitting and becoming aware of her implicit bias that if someone is arrested, they must be guilty. She was honest. The other juror who gave answers expected, pretending he did not have such bias, is the kind of juror you do not want on a jury. That kind of juror does not have an open mind, they just think they can scam themselves into being on a jury.

Unless something significant happens in motions in limine or during jury selection, the next post will be when the evidence portion starts.

Like most defendants in custody for a while, Watson's look is different with a haircut.

6/9: Jury panel was picked. Alternates are still being selected.
