Convicted sex offender, frequently arrested, unremorseful criminal and transient Randy Charles Knopf was arrested on a bench warrant by Eureka Police Department yesterday. These charges PC 3000.08(f), PC 3000.08(f), PC 667(b)-(i), are not the complete list of Knopf's criminal record but the PC290.011(b), failure to register as a sex offender is in every arrest.
I stopped covering every arrest since last year but with the June 7 election Knopf is a perfect example of why it is important who you vote for as the next Humboldt Judge and DA. I don't even bother asking EPD for a new booking photo because it is wasting EPD Crime Analyst and PIO Brittany Powell's time. Since my last post, Knopf has been arrested numerous times. This is an abuse of EPD's time and resources, especially when they are shorthanded.
The jail has released him on O.R. more than once. The Humboldt Judges do not care about your safety nor do they use their discretion and authority to send this monster to prison again where he belongs. They should have donr that years ago with the repeated probation violations and failure to register.
