This response from the Humboldt County Auditor Controller on Facebook would not be necessary if all the facts were presented in what passes as lazy slop published regularly on certain local "media" sources.
There is so much time wasted by others including me correcting inaccurate, incomplete information. I have in the past, mentioned some of those examples by more than one local "media" source.
Lost Coast Outpost did not get comment from Karen Paz Dominguez about why she was not there at this Tuesday BOS meeting and did a misleading headline about her absence in their pathetic "coverage" of that meeting which wasn't even posted until the next day.
LOCO:
"The board was all set to discuss a second vote of “no confidence” against Auditor-Controller Karen Paz Dominguez, but the item was pulled from the board’s agenda."
"County Administrative Officer Elishia Hayes informed the board that Paz Dominguez had spoken with Second District Supervisor Michelle Bushnell, who had initiated the agenda item with Board Chair and Fourth District Supervisor Virginia Bass, and said she would not be able to attend this morning’s meeting."
Still no investigative or independent "reporting" about candidate financials or funders or from Times-Standard, North Coast Journal or Lost Coast Outpost? For those whining about Humboldt finances, where is your accountability for these outlets who should be giving you pertinent information. They have multiple staff and resources.
I already have enough to do but I believe the public should know the money and funders behind the candidates so maybe I will put in the time but that information is available for anyone to see. Financial forms are not the complete story because donations under a certain amount do not need to be reported.
Time is money. My time, Karen's time and others' time is just as important as yours. Who has time to waste on drivel from the County which is agenda based and an effort to deflect the County wasting taxpayer money on a daily basis from uneccessary appeals and litigation to meetings where the Planning Commission argue about seating.
