Local consultant reached out to City of Eureka about this former restaurant

 

Heard the former China Buffet on 1835 4th Street might have been sold. I called City of Eureka Manager Miles Slattery to see if he knew. He had not heard but Miles was kind enough to check. 

Miles said there is "nothing definitive. A local consultant reached out to the City of Eureka to see if there were any red flags, issues and if the property was redeemable." It is not known whether the buyer is out of the area or local but if this particular person follows through, the buyer plans to keep it a restaurant.

Verifying through the County takes forever. The last time I saw someone checking it out, it was Jack, the owner of Jack's Seafood and he was not interested.

This property has been sitting empty for years. It would be good to get it cleaned up because it is an eyesore and attracts criminals and there is trash all around even with the fence.
