April 26 Press Release from Steward campaign:
AFSCME, the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees, Local 1684 (AFL-CIO), has endorsed Steven Steward to be Humboldt County’s next Superior Court Judge.
Drew Redden, Business Agent for Local 1684, writes:
“As one of the largest unions in Humboldt County, representing 1,500 public employees that work in every department in the County as well as workers for the Humboldt Transit Authority and the Superior Court, we believe that Steve Steward is the best choice for Humboldt County Superior Court Judge. Mr. Steward has the experience and proven dedication to this community that Humboldt County needs, and we enthusiastically urge voters to elect him on June 7th.”
This important endorsement comes on the heels of numerous endorsements from community members and organizations from across the political spectrum. “I appreciate the support of AFSCME, an organization that represents many of the people whom I have worked with in the District Attorney’s office and the courthouse over my many years of public service. The 1,500 members of AFSCME represent a broad cross section of our community and I am humbled by their endorsement”, said Steward. “These important members of our community, who work in some of the most crucial jobs in our County, believe in proven experience, fairness, compassion and accountability, and I appreciate their enthusiastic support.”
