Former correctional deputy  sentenced to 365 days in jail and 1 year probation

Former correctional deputy Ricardo Tranquillinio Aguirre was remanded into custody yesterday after sentencing. In court minutes and records, his name is listed as Ricardo Tranquillinio Aguirre Perez . Remand had been previously denied at intervention.

AguirrePerez resolved his case during intervention on March 28 and before preliminary hearing. This is the only case in court.

AguirrePerez is on no bail status. Judge Elvine-Kreis said HCSO has discretion to allow AguirrePerez to serve in any penal institution based on his safety.

Count 2, special allegation and Count 4 dismissed by the People.

Deputy District Attorney Jane Mackie is the prosecutor on the case and was present at sentencing. Deputy DA Ian Harris appeared on the case for the People at the intervention hearing. Mr. Joe Judge is AguirrePerez's attorney.

Another plea deal for Mackie. Another plea deal by Judge Elvine-Kreis. Would be interesting to get stats for how many days his courtroom is open and how many plea deals he has "encouraged" since being transferred to criminal court.
