Another reckless driving suspect that fled and wasted HCSO and multiple law enforcement agencies' time

On April 21, 2022, at about 1:05 a.m., Humboldt County Sheriff’s deputies attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle for reckless driving in the area of Janes Road in Arcata.

The vehicle failed to yield, and a pursuit ensued. Deputies pursued the vehicle through Arcata, with the assistance of the Arcata Police Department, California Highway Patrol, and Cal Poly Humboldt University Police. At approximately 1:40 a.m., the vehicle became disabled in the area of LK Wood Boulevard and Diamond Drive. The driver of the vehicle, 19-year-old Nolan Weldon Camper, then fled from law enforcement on foot. Camper was apprehended and taken into custody after a brief struggle.

Camper was booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility on charges of evading a peace officer (VC 2800.2), fleeing a peace officer (VC 2800.4), resisting arrest (PC 69), reckless driving (VC 23103) and resisting a peace officer (PC 148(a)(1)).

The Humboldt County Sheriff's Office would like to thank all coordinating agencies for their assistance in this case.
