This is why an experienced HCSO deputy and picking a DA who has kept women and children safe matters

Kudos to the HCSO deputy who arrested this guy. Sex crime charges and enhancements are complex.

This case is a perfect example of why you should choose Stacey Eads as a DA. Under District Attorney Maggie Fleming , abusers of women and children were held accountable. If you want the Paul Gallegos era back where Humboldt connected like Randy Cook got a plea to watered down slap on the wrist instead of the original charges involving his grandaughter, then you can buy the selective stats and spin from Adrian Kamada and his campaign. Kamada could not even get a conviction in the Ray Christie case in the first trial. Kamada needs to take responsibility for his record and failures instead of blaming the current DA's office.

Cook's attorney was Michael Robinson who is the only attorney I have seen denigrate a child victim. As abhorrent as Russ Clanton is, Robinson's remarks at Cook's sentencing were disgusting.

I have written about the dismissals and acquittals under the Fleming administration but I have also written about the Warren, Bullock convictions and countless, horrific cases which only I have covered where sexual predators and child abusers and have gone to prison clearly show which adninistration is protecting the community, the elderly, women and children.

Sergio Reynoso-Lozano was arraigned on 4/14 on 9 felony counts for sex crimes involving a minor. As I mentioned in the first post, this is the first time in a Humboldt sex abuse case I have covered, that I had seen a particular sentencing enhancement, especially at booking. You can read the alleged charges in the complaint and examples of specific sex crimes of that enhancement in the previous post.

At his OR/bail hearing on 4/18., the defense bail motion backfired and now Reynoso-Lozano is on  no bail status. The Public Defender's office is representing Reynoso-Lozano.

Preliminary hearing is scheduled for 4/26.

Besides his latest sex offense case, Reynoso-Lizano has a DUI, a drug and a family support case in the local court system.

4/26: Defense motion to continue preliminary hearing was granted because Deputy Public Defender David Celli needs to meet with Reynoso-Lozano to discuss discovery with an interpreter present.

Three hour time estimate. Preliminary hearing is scheduled for 6/6/22.
