What County Counsel resigned a week ago?

I was checking something on Humboldt Auditor Controller Karen Paz Dominguez's page and just saw this comment. I reached out to Paz Dominguez to ask if she was referring to Humboldt County Counsel Jefferson Billingsley or Natalie Duke or someone else from that office.

"Humboldt County Counsel Jefferson Billingsley  turned in his resignation in early April and his last day was the 15th," Paz Dominguez responded.

The screenshot of  is in a thread where Paz Dominguez posted her entire exchange with Ryan Burns from Lost Coast Outpost from 4 days ago.

Billingsley is no longer in Humboldt. That certainly is news. I emailed Teri Gridley, legal office manager for County Counsel and Fourth District Supervisor Virginia Bass.

"Virginia,

I am not really sure who to direct this to since department heads are leaving by the droves and who is in charge of HR?

I am writing to inquire if it is true that a County Counsel resigned last week. If that is the case, who is it Jefferson Billingsley, Natalie Duke or ?

Thanks,
John"

Virginia got back to me early morning of April 25 and said that she mentioned this on the telecast. "Jefferson left to move to El Dorado County where he and his family live closer to family."

(Jefferson Billingsley Humboldt County Counsel)

Other media have multiple staff. They dedicate one person to cover Board meetings live or watch proceedings later. I don't have the luxury to waste time on BOS meetings all day. Nor do I sit around mostly posting press releases and the other media do it minutes, hours and days late. I don't have PIOS do my job. I go look up information, I call, I walk around town.

My daily output  a lot more compared to other local media. Every post takes time because my news includes original and exclusive content, I verify, investigate and I manage to cover and post multiple news live.

I wrote about Treasure Tax collector John Bartholomew retiring. I did this days before his retirement.

Paz Dominguez Facebook post above is on point. I think Rocky's point about LOCO's "broken record" is obvious to anyone paying attention.

Former County Counsel Jeffrey Blanck gone and sued the County. Former Jefferson Billingsley resigns. Former Deputy County Counsel Blair Angus retired. Former CAO Amy Nilsen resigned abruptly. Several HR directors left. Former Auditor Controller Joe Mellet resigned months before his term was over. Former Public Defender Marek Reavis retired.

Reavis is a co-defendant in a lawsuit filed by a former Deputy Public Defender. Angus and Duke had charges filed against them by the California State Bar.  Nilsen and Billingsley can give any official reason for leaving. County Counsel, CAO, HR Directors leaving the Humboldt Titanic.

Some of this has not received coverage anywhere except this blog  None of these departures  or departments have received the coverage and coordinated attack campaign enabled by one sided blatant coverage from Lost Coast Outpost. LOCO has been called out by their own readers. Why haven't any of these media who submit PRAs all the time followed up on County exits, lawsuits and done independent research into claims about the Auditor Controller?
