While the court records list his middle name as Jon, I just confirmed with Sheriff William Honsal that the same dob 12/21/78 is for Brian John Leiteritz. I also reached out to Lt. Williams, the interim PIO again today for an update and victim identity. See press release below sent out after this post.
I listed some of Leiteritz's court cases in my earlier post. He has three more cases,an unlawful detainer filed against him by a Ray Flores, a domestic violence case Leiteritz filed against a Alicia Rose and a civil protection order against a Tiffany Deveraux.

On 08-10-19, the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office began an investigation into a reported stabbing that occurred on the 1100 block of Boss Rd. in McKinleyville, in which a male died.
The decedent has been identified as Dylon T. Liakos, age 30, of Rohnert Park, Ca.
The Criminal Investigations Division is still actively investigating the case.
