Less than 45 minutes for a verdict and another win for Deputy Public Defender Rosemary Deck

This is the fourth win by Deputy Public Defender Rosemary Deck that I have reported on  this blog.

Jurors started deliberating at 11:15 a.m today and the verdict was in before 11:55 and by noon, Michael P. Langley, Jr was found not guilty.

The PC 422 criminal threats charge was dismissed at close of evidence. The six men and six women jury found Langley not guilty of simple battery on a spouse/cohabitant; a misdemeanor. They also found Langley not guilty of the lesser charge of simple assault.

"I thank the jurors for participation. Without them, justice cannot be served," said Ms. Deck.

None of the jurors stayed to talk to attorneys. As they walked out, they were heard saying how educational this experience has been.

The prosecutor for this case was Deputy District Attorney Roger Rees.
