Motion to appoint another attorney to look into Christopher Craft withdrawing his plea

(Brandon Brocious)

Christopher Sterling aka Christopher Craft is supposed to be sentenced tomorrow afternoon. On July 16, Craft entered a plea to a lesser charge for Count 1. He admitted to voluntary manslaughter as well enhancement of using a knife during the commission of a crime. Craft was originally charged with the murder of Brandon Brocious.

His attorney, Ms. Christina Allbright has filed a motion on his behalf to have another attorney appointed who will look into Craft withdrawing his plea.

At the last hearing, Craft's mother Lorna Leen yelled, "I wouldn't do it Chris!" She was thrown out of the courtroom.

Update: Judge Christopher Wilson accepted Craft's plea but the hearing today was in front of Retired Judge John Feeney. Judge Wilson will rule whether Craft can withdraw his plea. A court hearing is scheduled to appoint a new lawyer for Craft on August 16.

Deputy District Attorney Jessica Watson objected to the motion.
