Instead of getting sentenced, convicted sex offender requests another continuance


Sentencing was continued to August 12 for twice convicted sex offender Justin Strauhal.
His plea on May 10 was for a 16 year prison sentence. Strauhal waived his right to appeal.
Today, sentencing was continued again to 8/26.

Deputy Public Defender David Celli wants Strauhal evaluated to see if there are mitigating factors that could affect his sentence. Deputy District Attorney Stacey Eads was present for the People.

Update: On 8/22/19, defense motion to continue was granted. There was no.objection by the People.

The date of August 26 was vacated. Sentencing is now scheduled for September 9.
