Stanton Wood arrested today for dumping of hazardous materials at Humboldt Redwood Company sound familiar?
Stanton Wood was previously arrested in 2016 for interfering and obstructing at Palco Marsh and in 2012 for squatting in a vacant house.
Today, Wood was arrested for trespassing, unlawful assembly, and dumping of hazardous materials at Humboldt Redwood Company.
HCSO Press Release:
On 08-15-2019, at about 12:35 pm, the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office received a call for service at the Humboldt Redwood Company in Scotia. It was reported that protesters on scene had locked themselves down with devices at the entrance gate to the mill. It was further reported that they had dumped hazardous materials in the roadway leading into the mill. That roadway also drains into the Eel River.
Deputies responded to the scene and subsequently arrested one individual, Stanton Wood, age 33, who was booked into the correctional facility for trespassing, unlawful assembly, and dumping of hazardous materials. Two other individuals were issued citations and released from the scene.
Humboldt Redwood Company employees took actions to contain the hazardous spill and prevent any contamination to the Eel River watershed.
