Staff recommends Supervisors opt out of Laura's Law

If you did not read my post and the letter sent to the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors by Dr. Jennifer Wilson yesterday, here is the link.

I like what I have seen so far from Second District Supervisor Michelle Bushnell. The other four Supervisors are completely useless except for their family, friends and cronies.

Taxpayer dollars wasted on litigation that could be avoided due to poor decisions by the BOS; overtime approved for Public Health employees like Teresa Frankovich and Josh Ennis who sit at a desk while frontline workers struggle. Businesses erecting fences to protect their property because elected officials at the County level can't fix the long term economy, housing and mental health issues in Humboldt.

Mental health diversion and Laura's Law would have a significant impact on reducing court backlogs, people being incarcerated and those getting the mental help they desperately need which has to court mandated. This would benefit businesses and residents of Humboldt County and public safety.

So will all those SJWs and professional protestors be outside the Courthouse Monday or Tuesday? Will there be a petition advocating for the mentally ill?  Will someone ask the staff who wrote this report why paying social workers and all those other County employees that sit for hours in and waiting for court hearings is okay but for Laura's Law, it is not? Read the staff report online under this agenda item.

Any coverage from the rest of the local media asking tough questions? Will the whiners on Facebook so concerned about mental illness do anything besides point the blame on everyone else, including police? Unless they can get attention or benefit from appearing "woke", all the above do nothing because just like government and politicians, the people that need Laura's Law are dispensable unless it suits an agenda. Those who care, would speak up regularly and bring about change. It is easy to sit and complain on Facebook or in your comfy homes and offices; if you are not holding those accountable that make a difference; your opinion is irrelevant, posturing and you are part of the problem.

A certain, well to do banking industry professional married to a Humboldt Supervisor likes to ponticate in his newspaper column. What has he done to address mental health, affordable housing, crime besides tell everyone else what they should be doing? He couldn't get elected despite his connections and supposed election knowledge. He is one example of the hypocrites in Humboldt with money, "power" who talk a lot but have failed to deliver unless it involves photo ops.

My coverage on this blog is the kind ABC7 Bay Area does and much needed in Humboldt. The people and advertisers who truly care about Humboldt get the value.
