At trial assignment for kidnapping, robbery and assault suspect Franklin Molina, the jury trial for April 12 will not proceed on that day.
That is the same day several other trials are scheduled. This according to the latest plan in Humboldt Superior Court of assigning several trials out and then to"trail."
Deputy Public Defender Casey Russo is Molina's attorney. Deputy District Attorney Trent Timm is the prosecutor for the case.
Mr. Timm had started another trial for Jason Smith, which is on hiatus until defense motions are heard on April 12 and there is a ruling.
Next hearing is scheduled on April 13 and it is for intervention. The Molina trial will "trail" day to day until trial assignment on April 16 to see if a courtroom is available.
4/13: The case was put over to 4/14
4/14: Resolution possible. DA to talk to victims. Next court date is trial assignment on April 16.
