After opposition from the Humboldt Grower's Alliance and others, Arcata Land Company’s said they were willing to reduce the size of their cannabis project in Arcata. Sun Valley Farms' Lane DeVries is the agent and director for Arcata Land Company. The property for the proposed cannabis project is owned by Sun Valley Farms.
Why is Arcata Land Company willing to downsize the 23 acre project to 8 acres? According to an inside source, the Arcata Land Company is looking "at a lot of land" in Oregon.
If the Arcata Land Company does have a larger project in Oregon, that means less local revenue and job loss in Humboldt.
The other local media reported the project is being downsized. Just reporting on letters and a meeting isnt always the complete story.
