After all the whining about COVID 19 concerns, why is PD resisting remote appearances by expert witnesses?

At trial confirmation today, convicted spousal rapist Scott Eden's jury trial for May 17 was confirmed.

Deputy District Attorney Stacey Eads is the prosecutor for the case. Deputy Public Defender Wade Orbelian is Eden's attorney.

At the last hearing, Eden would not waive his right for experts to testify remotely. That still remains. Judge Christopher Wilson urged attorneys tp see if there could be an agreement since this affects scheduling.

Ms. Eads said People plan to call two expert witnesses; maybe one additional witness and with jury selection, the time estimate was three weeks.

Mr. Orbelian said three to four weeks and refused to state if defense planned to call any witnesses.
