This afternoon, a Mendocino County Superior Court jury found Lamont Alexander Dean guilty of assault with the intent to commit rape of an unconscious woman.
According to the Mendocino County District Attorney, the offense occurred in Ukiah during June 2020.
Dean admitted a prior strike conviction outside of the presence of the jury. That felony conviction was from 1999 in Solano County Superior Court.
Deputy District Attorney Heidi Larson is the prosecutor for this case. Mendocino County Sheriff, the California Department of Justice and the Mendocino District Attorney investigators all worked on the case.
Mendocino County Superior Court Judge Keith Faulder presided over the six-day trial.
