Ulisses Rodriguez case continued until assigned attorney is available

Trial setting and defense motion to compel discovery for murder suspect Ulisses Rodriguez was scheduled for this morning. It was continued to April 27.

Ms. Andrea Sullivan told Judge Lawrence Killoran that trial setting could not proceed before the issue of the possible protective order for John Doe's phone records could be addressed in chambers. Depending on the Judge's decisions, a motion to compel would be filed. The discussion in chambers needs to happen with the assigned attorney.

Deputy District Attorney Luke Bernthal is the prosecutor for the case. He is in trial. Deputy DA Stacey Eads appeared on the case for the People.

Ms. Kathleen Bryson represents confidential witness, John Doe.

The details on the motion and John Doe records have been covered several times in previous posts.

4/27: Mr. Bernthal was not present. He was in another courtroom. The case was continued to 4/28 by Judge Kiloran. Ms. Sullivan said the discovery issue has been pending for a year.
