Murder suspect Gearold Sotolongo scheduled for April remains set, for now. Defense made an oral motion to continue. Trial confirmation today was continued to April 8 when Deputy District Attorney Roger Rees, the prosecutor on the case returns to the office.
Deputy District Attorney Luke Bernthal appeared on the case for the People today. He left it up to the defense to decide whether a wriiten motion should be filed. Mr. Bernthal said "victims need to be notified" even though the likelihood for the trial proceeding is unlikely in April.
I was given April 21 as the date, in court April 19 was stated. Court dates are being changed in off record hearings, there is no access to e court so hopefully, there will be more clarification at the next court hearing.
Deputy Public Defender Wade Orbelian is Sotolongo's attorney. Sotolongo has shaved his head and looks nothing like his booking photo.
10/15: Another continuance. I haven't even posted all the continuances because it is happening too often and in too many cases. Trial confirmation rescheduled to 4/18/22; Jury trial to 5/2/22. Mr. Zach Curtis is now Sotolongo's attorney.
