He has 9 cases, got out of custody thanks to the pandemic, and thinks he deserves a better resolution?
At trial confirmation for Eric Harmon this morning, a further trial confirmation was scheduled for September 15. Deputy Public Defender Owen Tipps requested it for a "suitable resolution."
He had nine cases on calendar. Five of those cases are from 2019. Jury trial is scheduled for 9/21. Due to the emergency bail schedule this year, Harmon has been out of custody.
Deputy District Attorney Stephen Pomeroy reiterated the People's offer to resolve the case made to Harmon since April 11. That offer is for Harmon to stipulate two years "on the bus"s with all custody credits to be put towards his older misdemeanor cases.
"We are waiting for counsel's counter offer," said Mr. Pomeroy.
9/15: Next court hearing is trial assignment on September 18.
9/18: At trial assignment, there was no courtroom available for the September 21 jury trial so "on the Court's own motion", that date was vacated. Harmon still hasn't resolved his case but a pre trial date was scheduled for October 26, with a possible change of plea. Trial confirmation is on February 2; jury trial February 6.
DA Maggie Fleming appeared on the case for the People at trial assignment. Mr. Tipps on Harmon's behalf.
